Sarah Nelson, MD, FAAP

Welcoming New Patients Starting August 18th at Arapahoe Park Pediatrics

Dr. Nelson is a board-certified pediatrician with a passion for providing compassionate, family-centered care to children from birth through adolescence. She brings over five years of experience in both outpatient primary care and urgent care settings, most recently practicing with Texas Children’s Pediatrics and Urgent Care in Houston.

Originally from Texas, Dr. Nelson earned her medical degree from the University of Texas at Houston McGovern Medical School, where she was recognized with the prestigious Gold Humanism Award for excellence in patient-centered care. She completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, where she also pursued global health and quality improvement training.

Dr. Nelson is certified in medical Spanish and has special interest in supporting the emotional and behavioral health of her patients, bolstered by recent training through the REACH Institute’s Pediatric Mental Health program. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a dedicated mentor to first-generation college students aspiring to healthcare careers.

Outside the office, Dr. Nelson enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring her new Colorado home, and connecting with her community. She looks forward to meeting your family and partnering with you to help your child grow and thrive!
